Monday Jan 12 2009 comments Paying it forward -A +A Courtesy Nancy VarvasSeventh grade students at Weimar Hills School collected Christmas gifts for children at Shriners Hospital in Sacramento. Seventh grader Haley Blackmun suggested to her classmates that they prepare gift bags for the hospitalized children. Just before the holidays, Language Arts teacher Nancy Varvas delivered 58 gift bags. ?We received a very nice letter from the administration at Shriners Hospital thanking the students for their generosity,? Varvas said. ?In our class we talked about thinking globally and acting locally. I think they did.?
